Solid board

In addition to corrugated board and folding boxboard, solid board is also used as a starting material for packaging.
Solid board, a typical West European product, is produced by gluing together various layers of board and paper with waterproof adhesive (PVA). This procedure makes solid board especially useful in manufacturing packaging for products stored and transported in damp environments. (moisture resistance)
Qualities of solid board for packaging are usually expressed in g/m² and lie between 600 g/m² and 1250 g/m².
Gluing together the various layers of board and paper results in
high flexibility in the product offer: according to the
requirements of the customer, the quality of the types of paper can
be adapted (test liner/kraft liner) and refined as needed via a PE
(polyethylene) coating or high-gloss paper.
